Poultry

Here at the Cornish smallholder we believe in tip top husbandry for all our animals. Our chickens are kept in large grassed enclosures and are able to access dust baths at all times, thus encouraging their natural behaviour. In order to keep disease and parasites at bay, our chickens are regularly wormed, loused and rotated around our enclosures. This means that our lovely featheries are less susceptible to catch any nasties, and the ground is allowed time to recover from the invariable damage that they can wreack. We have the following large breed chickens, Red dorking, Barnevelder and Buff Orpington. We offer hatching eggs, chicks and pullets please see our for sale pages for the lastest offers. As for breeding, we keep no less than three hens to one cockerel and work hard to find new blood lines to add to our flock; keeping the rare breeds going strong , healthy, and fertile. All our poulrty are registered with DEFRA.
